After two years taking mainly general education courses Jon was offered a job by his uncle, composer, Daniel Licht. Jon began working as his assistant, learning the trade of composing for TV and Film which had always intrigued him. Within a couple years Jon was writing music for television shows, feature films and video games. Most notably Jon contributed additional music to Showtime's "Dexter" for all 8 seasons. Jon also wrote and performed several original songs that were featured in the hit series.
While Jon continues to collaborate with his uncle Dan, he has also continued his constant production of original songs. In 2011 he digitally released a collection of his written for Dexter. A year later he was asked to write and produce a song for the end credits of Bethesda's hit video game "Dishonored." In 2012 Jon's child-hood friend Paul Haapaniemi moved to LA from Michigan and the two re-connected musically. The singer/songwriters came together with Los Angeles native Ally Cool to form The Roustabouts, a folk/rock jam band that is known for their spontaneous and inclusive live performances. Over the past 5 years Jon and The Roustabouts have performed all over the country while producing two original full length albums. Their self-titled release in 2012 and "Little Brother" in 2016 were written by Jon and Paul and produced by Jon.
